Mr Fahrenheit is a CubeSat – a type of miniaturized satellite for research and educational purposes of 10x10x10 cm in size.
Mr Fahrenheit CubeSat will consist of 6 systems:
Structure consists of our satellite’s mechanical parts, such as the case, rails and mechanical switches.
2. Communication system
Mr Fahrenheit’s radiocommunication system consists of a ground station and the satellite’s onboard transceiver and antennas.
3. Electrical Power System (EPS)
Mr Fahrenheit’s EPS (Electrical Power System) consists of three main elements: solar panels, ESS (Energy Storage Systems) and PMS (Power Management System).
4. Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS)
Our ADCS stabilizes the CubeSat with Passive Magnetic Attitude Control (PMAC) using a magnet and hysteresis rods. Stabilizing the antennas will help with radiocommunication as well as stabilizing our payload’s camera(s) will enable them to take better photos.
5. On-board computer (OBC)
Our On-Board Computer (OBC) is the ‘brain’ of our CubeSat. It controls all the actions taken by our satellite, manages the commands and handles the data.
Mr Fahrenheit’s experimental equipment consists of a camera, spectrophotometer and perovskite solar cells.
